Steve reached down, planting his fists against the concrete and muttering under his breath. The concrete sparked and warped, and tendrils rose from the surface and wreathed about his knuckles, plating them in dull grey stone.

Imogen took out her pocket knife and flicked it to show its blade. That blade glinted in the light then soon seemed to meld with her fingers, becoming an extension and replicating its sharp edge on each of her fingertips.

Tiffani was no fighter - and she knew it. Was she in over her head? Almost certainly. The only reason why she was here at all was because - well - she swore an oath in a cheap motel room late one night to defend and protect people she didn't even know.

There were things she could do, though. She wasn't entirely defenseless. Already, some ideas were formulating in her head.

But ... she needed a target. Untll she had one, all she could do was patiently - and nervously - wait to either attack, defend, or heal. Yes, there were things she could do, and she was ready.

Truth was, I wasn't much of a fighter. I was a fair shot, but that was as a last resort. If I did my job right, the bad guys never saw me. If I hid this time, however, the huntsman would go after one of the others.

I was the bait.

"Well, best get ready." He pursed his lips. Bending over, he removed his shoes, and then his socks. Setting them aside, he then let his feet rest against the Earth. A small knife was pulled from his hoodie, and a long cut against his palm. Flicking his hand, blood sprayed onto the ground before him.

Then he spat on the ground. "Alright you piece of shit huntsman. Spring says you're gonna sit your happy ass down and leave my friend alone." A crown of Garland appeared around his head, as where the blood and spit mixed, vines began to rapidly grow, following him where ever he moved.

Prince of Ivy, loophole used (Presence 2, Expression 2, Mantle 3): 7d10o10h8 3 1 willpower paid, 1 lethal point of damage taken.

Jean reached as if was grasping the air in his hands, mumbling prayers in French as he did so. The air around his hands grew solid, slowly condensing into a blade of thin air in his hand. As he turned he held a greatsword in his hands. The blade shimmered in the daylights, barely visible to the human eyes. "I am Jean Beauparlant, and I am here to cut you down." he challenged the empty air.

Theme

There was a roaring sound, throbbing like a motorcycle throttled all the way into the red. Laid over that was a shrill scream, violent and piercing. The Huntsman appeared on his fell steed as he had ripped a hole between the Hedge and the mundane world. Where a mortal saw a man on a motorcycle, you all saw the truth: the rider looked much like Marlowe, concealed in shadows, a long black coat, a rifle in his hands. The creature he was mounted on was part motorcycle, part goat, all fae nightmare; with kicking cloven hooves, and altogether too many horns. Its eyes, with a goat's alien-like pupils, rolled wildly, and the creature frothed at the mouth. Shining chrome and gleaming bone armoured the steed, and provided some degree of cover for its rider.

Screeching to a halt a little less than 200m away, the Huntsman levelled his rifle and took aim at Marlowe. "Count yourself lucky, Marlowe, Neraphista wants you alive." His shot hit the ground slightly to Marlowe's left, the Huntsman was clearly aiming low.


All characters must make a reflexive Resolve + Composure roll. On failure, gain the Shaken Condition (-1 to any rolls that target the Huntsman).

Imogen had to admit that the huntsman knew to make a rather rad entrance but she was also rather put off have his fearsome appearance, not that she would admit it.

However, it did give her the idea to fight fear with fear. Surely, the Huntsman must have that capacity too? Unfortunately for Imogen, she just stood there and looked rather silly as she merely adopted a proud pose. "...Oh yeah?"
