The central hub of Maize, Main Street runs north-south past the major businesses of the village.

Maize Main Street Plaza
Open: LM through LA
This small, indoor shopping centre has a Post Office, Supermarket, Deli, three or four small stores, and a few lousy places to eat.

Main Street Gas Station
Open: EM through LE
One of the few thriving businesses in Maize, all the residents need gas, especially the farmers.

Cornerstone Bank
Open: LM through LA
The only bank in Maize, though there are ATMs at the Gas Station and Mall.

Hometown Bar & Restaurant
Open: LM through EE, bar remains open LE.
The only ‘real’ place to eat in Maize, the Hometown Bar & Restaurant is a plain, dated eatery. The business survives mostly by virtue of being the only restaurant in town. It is owned and run by Jeremy Larson.

Maize Cafe
Open: EM through LA
The sign outside reads “Dollop”, but everyone still just refers to it as the Maize Cafe. Possibly the most up-to-date establishment in the village, the cafe hopes to cater to a younger crowd, but the overwhelming majority of Maize residents are over 45, or under 18. The coffee is okay, and they offer some nice pies and cakes, but it is still best known as the place to get breakfast in town. It is owned and operated by Gloria Brannon.

The Scratch Bar
Open: EA through EN
Situated in a corner of the Main Street Mall, the Scratch Bar is little more than a dive but, as the only dedicated bar, it sees a steady flow of business. It is small but modern, featuring a lot of dark wood, having opened only two years ago. Although attached to the Mall, the entrance is outside, and the bar keeps its own hours, separate from those of the Mall itself. Scratch is owned by Alan Reeder, who also tends bar most nights.
