Tiffani looked at Marlowe and Imogen standing there in a huddle with their hands one atop the other like the high school sports team she actually cheerled for. My god, had she actually been a cheerleader? That may as well have been a lifetime ago.

Seeing no one else immediately getting up to swear the oath, Tiffani slid off her motel chair and took the step or two that brought her to Marlowe and Imogen - ironically the only two Changelings she had met since arriving in Maize. She reached out her hand and placed it on top of Imogen's.

Her eidetic memory allowed her to repeat the oath Marlowe and said without a single mistake. "I pledge myself to all of you who join me, to share my abilities, skills and resources in pusuit of our common goals, to aid you and defend you to the best of my abilities."

Tiffani had to admit - she did feel sort of ... different somehow. As if she really had given a piece of herself in some arcane form to make this oath official. At any rate, she stood there with the others, looking slightly back over her shoulder, waiting to see if anyone else would join them. Though she said nothing, the expression on her face said, "Get your ass over here and swear this oath or else - the three of us can't do this alone!"

Steve shrugged and ambled closer, offering his large hand as well. "I pledge myself to all of you who join me, to share my abilities, skills and resources in pursuit of our common goals, to aid you and defend you to the best of my abilities."

Jean, not wanting to left out. "As God is my witness, so shall I vow myself to all of who who join me, to protect and guard you, to bleed and kill for you, do die for you if God so wishes. " He spoke the words, letting the demonic energy to flow from him, grimacing as he did so.

Oh right, this guy. Imogen couldn't help but groan when Jean joined into the pledge. However, there were no exceptions, it was supposed to be all for one and one for all. A motley was a motley.

Yeah ... but how does anyone know what God wishes? It worried her a little when people made oaths like that because who knew what a person would do if they thought God was handing out the orders? Whatever the case, she was more concerned with the people that were hesitating. The motley was up to four members now ... a photographer, a religious guy with a peculiar way of speaking, a ... well, she didn't really know what Marlowe did, and herself, a teenager whose last earthly problem was finding a date to the Christmas dance. Hmm ... could this kind of line-up possibly end well for any of them? She began to feel as if she were in a movie where the plot threw a bunch of disparate and dissimilar people together to fight some kind of evil.

But ... what if she never left Arcadia? What if this whole scene was being put on by her Keeper and none of these people were even real? Her Keeper had done this to her before, but not quite to this extent. But still, what if ...?

Her eyes narrowed at those who hadn't joined yet. She just wanted this to be over.
