"Agreed. But, the family down the street should fear both." I looked over at a house in the distance. "Regardless, I hope you get what you want here in Maize. I'll try to stay out of your way. But, I'm just a few doors down, if you need anything."

"Be careful. Whoever you're here for may not be what they seem."

Steve guffawed, "I know exactly what they are." His mirth was gone in a flash, and he clenched a fist tightly, knuckles cracking sharply as the elemental glowered.

"Can't imagine anyone coming here without knowing why," Steve answered.

"Just a few rumors about something strange happening here." I shrugged. "That's all I was aware of."
