Re: (D2, EE, Motel) House of Strangers
"Pretty much my assumption as well, Marlowe. Though mine's a easy explanation; I was asked to come here as a favor to my King. Sketchy on the details of why, though. So, I got myself the nicest room in this place and plan on enjoying myself for what I can be allowed to do. Wouldn't mind figuring out why, but if I'm out of my day job for a few weeks and enjoy myself, drinking nothing but the finest of wines..." He motions to the cheaply made wine bottle he brought. "...I could make due with that as well."
Listening to Jean, he shrugged and sat down, his thin, but tall frame sitting on the chair that Marlowe kept warm for him. "God, karma, red string of fate, whatever you want to call it, can't say I've seen so many of our ilk show up in a place at once at random."
Who the hell thinks detectives "detect privates"? Has he never seen any of the old serials?

Reina lifted her disproportionately large and furry forearms, clicking the claws that were as long as a person's face, then grinned revealing too many similarly sharp teeth. "'Cause I am. I didn't want to be a house bunny, so I became a monster. It's fun to be a monster. You get to be strong and scary." She folding her arms on her knees and leaned her chin on them before munching on a cookie. "Stuff in Arcadia can change more than here, even yourself, so you can change yourself if you figure out the trick."Tiffani Noelle wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 1:49 pmAfter Tiffani was done chomping down the first Oreo, she ridded herself of the crumbs by lightly clapping her hands together, then extended her hand to Reina. "Well hello Reina, the Bunny Monster, I'm Tiffani. Very pleased to meet you." It would seem Tiffani had pulled out all the stops with her manners all of the sudden. "Why on earth would you consider yourself a monster? I mean, look at the rest of us, no?" She chuckled at Raina and leaned back in the marginally comfortable hotel chair.
She laughed at the detecting privates line, but sobered up quickly as she listened. "Definitely not just chance. But it's not like it drew in a bunch of other stuff, just changelings. So it's probably tied to that. And Blondie was talking about a dream. Did you guys have any dreams?"

Tiffani listened to Reina's explanation with a rather intrigued expression on her face.
"I must admit, I've never met anyone who not only wanted to be a monster, but also enjoyed it." She thought for a moment about the fear such a "creature" as Reina could elicit and, oddly enough, for a time at least, Tiffani actually felt rather envious. Yes, she had her own methods for drawing out the fear in people - but still - no one is afraid of a girl who barely weighs over 100lbs. with faerie wings stuck to her back. She often thought she looked more like a little girl out trick-or-treating in a faerie costume.
"If it gives you pleasure, then all the power to you, my dear Reina. Unfortunately, I never learned how to change things in Arcadia, so this form is what I got stuck with." Tiffani gave her another smile and sat back down in her chair, listening to the conversation continue without any real understanding of what it was all about. Why in the world did this ... whatever it was ... bring her to this town?
"Yes, Reina, I had just one dream - on the one night I've been in town so far. The fact that I can even remember it after so many hours is strange all by itself. I suppose it shouldn't be surprising that it was a dream about corn. A few others I've talked to said the same thing, but I'll let them speak for themselves if they wish to."

"Uh what?" Jean blinked. "I am afraid I don't understand you mi'lady." he offered Tiffani a courteous bow. She seemed to be much like him, not touched by her time in hell. In Jean's mind, this meant that she was pious. Not pious like Jean d'Arc had been, for she had been sacred mother's arm on earth. But still probably better then the tentacles for face or the demon-rabbit. Faith, he had decided, protected against the corruption of hell. "I am Jean Wellspeak, most recently of Montreal, the city of saints."

I watched and listened to them all for a few moments. They were certainly a unique bunch. I filled a few notes away in my head before addressing the tall one.
"I suspect we all have similar stories. Some of my colleagues are aware that I have an interest in unusual cases. I got a message out of Denver, regarding something strange happening up here. There weren't any details, just a few vague rumors." I shrugged. "The violet rock guy said he came here looking for someone. Jean here was sent by God. God-willing, I'd like to learn why we're here. And, I'd like to be ready, if it's dangerous."

"Oh uh ..." Tiffani was caught completely off guard by Jean's courteous bow, her cheeks turning a slight shade of crimson at being the recipient of such a greeting. Therefore, she stood up from her chair and offered Jean a near-perfect curtsey - as perfect as she could make it given her attire.
"My name is TIffani, Jean, a very interesting pleasure it is to meet you." She giggled lightly and continued, "I am from a little town in Bedfordshire, England that you've probably never heard of. Sharnbrook, the city of ... brooks?" Again that enigmatic smirk as she sat back down in her chair, gracefully crossed her legs, and addressed the main flow of the conversation.
"I have no idea why I'm here or what called me to come - assuming anything or anyone did. All I know is that Maize was along the route I was taking south. Honestly, I figured this would be another one-night stop-over before I caught a ride with a trucker or something. I had no idea I would end up sitting in a cramped motel room with a group of Lost, none of whom I knew existed 24 hours ago." She shrugged one of her dainty shoulders. "Life is weird like that, I guess, but it does feel like we're all here for a reason."

"Oh. I just got here because a trucker drop me here." Jean noted to Marlowe with a simple smile on his lips. "Perhaps the man was doing God's work." Huffing, he added. "Perhaps not. I had a vision last night. A Satanic vision most foul." Agitated, the knight caught few of his dangling curls, brushing them behind his ear. "There is a great danger out there." he waved at the direction of the fields. "I'm sure of it."
"England? I know Anglaise, mu lady. It was Henry the fifth who brought ruin and damnation to my beloved France. " his tone was now colder. "Though, I have been told that our kingdoms have since become great friends, fighting side by side. It was hard to believe, but they showed me things on the magic box. A man told me that Anglais came to help France in her time of need. A God's true wonder!" Jean explained, his voice full of fervor.

Reina listened as she shifted her position so she was laying on her back with her legs kicked up on the wall as if she was sitting on that and not the bed. "I think it'd be good to work together if it's true that we were all drawn here by something. I just hope it's not one of the old bosses. Well, all the more reason to do so if it is."

Jonathan stood up and nodded. "Jonathan, for those who did not hear me before. Pleasure to meet all of you."
"Came here because my King owed one of your Kings or Queen a favor. Maybe. Not really sure who it was, to be honest. Either way, I'm helping pay off his debt. That's really about it." He gave a large shrug and looks at the others. Guy sounded older than he was with that comment.. Here he was confused still confused by iPhones, yet this poor fool was still operating on medieval understandings. Well, even he knew the French and English still never really firmly got along.
Rough way to go about things, if you think about it, being away for so long. Even his time with them was a relatively small one, at least it felt that way. Doubt he was so fortunate.
"Looking forward to getting along for however long we are stuck together."

There was another knock on the door. A tall, broad-shouldered elemental composed of attractive lilac-grey stone that threw tiny rainbow reflections like the inside of an oyster shell joined the party. He’d brought corn chips, no dip though.
He didn’t seem taken aback as he scanned the room, taking in his first glimpse of the Others (besides Marlowe, who had invited him). “Steve,” he offered, tossing the bag of chips onto the bed—the nearest flat surface available.
