Like much of Maize, the Hedge here is an endless field of ghostly white corn. Eerie scarecrows dot the fields, and scattered here and there are ramshackle farm houses, looking deserted and haunted. The town itself appears ruined, overtaken by the corn.
The Netflix film In the Tall Grass (based on the novella by Stephen King and his son, Joe Hill) does a good job of portraying the warping of time and distance within the cornfield. The grass looks a lot like corn, so it's a good visual. It’s not a good film though, maybe not worth spending the 101 minutes on.
