It was a large bone, but I didn't have much of an idea of what it'd belonged to or how it got here. I did have an idea of how I might learn a bit more, however. I set the bone back where it was and focused on it.

Your eyes begin to glow white as your vision fades, for a moment you are surrounded by darkness. You see a corn field, like this one, but it is day time. At least, it seems like day, there is no sun in the flat, lifeless sky, but you can see well enough. See well enough to note the white corn hangs limp and rotten from the stalks, see well enough the muddy ground beneath your feet, see well enough the blood-like fluid that seeps from the rotten ears into the soil.

You see a Changeling. They are frightened, cowed. Their wrists and ankles are manacled, bruised and bloodied. A hand in the darkness. The flash of a blade. Blood. Violent, scarlet, it's bright, it burns your eyes as the arterial spray splatters the corn. It mingles with the fell red liquid on those stalks, running down the ghostly pale plants to join the soil.

It was a chilling sight and bad news for me and the others. I had a better idea of why we were here now, but there was still a lot of unknown. I considered taking another look around, in another way. But, it would be best not to draw any further attention to myself than I might already have. Picking the bone back up and wrapping it in a bag from my kit, I walked away. It was time to leave.

Yeah, best not to dive before letting the others know. I slipped back to the motel quietly, wondering what I'd dream tonight.
