[D2 LA] Among the corn (outskirts)

"Yeah, those things. Real handy. You put your food in and you wait and you get hot food. Back home, I would need to yell at the servants to get something warm, or when on the campaign, set up the fire and then warm whatever we had. Your food is much better too, though some of that stuff you put in microwave is pretty bland. Like, I didn't know that chicken could taste like nothing. But you know, at least there is the chicken." Jean blinked. "Did someone put a cat into a micro-oven? That sounds awful."

"Devils! Better we name the evil than call it by some other name. So that people know that hell is real! I see so much ungodliness here. People are not afraid even if they should." He sounded both disgusted and struck by disbelief. "Land of sinners, this kingdom is. Your king is no better, talking about grabbing cats and how great he is. When he should see to his lands." Jean was huffing by this point, struct as he was by spell of righteous anger.

"Uh... uh..." on the other hand, she was devil touched beast. On the other hand, she was a young lady. Jean's brains short circuited for a moment when Reina asked about fornication. "Um. It's what rabbits do. A lot."

[Reina Silva]

"No, he just made ding sounds sometimes. He was also partly human and partly mechanical, so I think it was the mechanical part that dinged," she replied.

"The term he used wasn't... cat..." She paused, considering if this was a rabbit hole she wanted to go down. "... Never mind."

"... Look for danger...?"

"How did that work?" Jean frowned, confused. "Foul devil-spawn?" Anything that was half cat, half human sounded like witch business and the only business the witches had was that of becoming firewood. "The devil works through many facets to tempt us. " The matter of the king of America was already forgotten, Jean's mind "solidly" back on the matter of demons. "Uh..." both his mask and mien flustered. "Umm... no. Erm." he scratched the back of his neck. "Have babies."

[Reina Silva]

"I mean... he was probably another changeling. My Keeper like animals," she replied in confusion. "... You're upset... by pregnancy? Is it all the blood and fluids and stuff?"

A long moment passed before something occurred to her, finally connecting the sections of conversation. She looked very proud of herself as she asked, "Wait, are you bothered by the actual mating part?"

"Demon touched yes. Some were more corrupted than others." He waved his human hand slowly back and forth. "Hellish place, still. You know." Jean figured that she had been tormented as he had. "But I never relented, even when they did..." he gulped. "...things to me." While a monster rabbit, he still tried to consider her a lady. It was not his fault that the demons had tainted her immortal soul. He had been close to giving in several times. "No." There was a pause. "Yes. It should not be done lightly. You see people dressed like, erm.. erm.. paid women all the time. No-one seems to respect themselves anymore."

[Reina Silva]

"Yeah, it was pretty bad. I thought I'd never be warm again," she agreed. "I think there's a saying in English about Hell freezing over."

"What does respect have to do with it? It's just a need. Humans have an instinct to reproduce, and find stuff that feels good to them. There'd be no humans if they didn't."

[Jean Wellspeak]

"My prison wasn't cold. Little comforts." Jean muttered, shuddering as he recalled some of his owner's games. "Hell freezing, how would that happen?"

"Uh..." both mien and the mask were bright red. "No, maybe, yes." he stammered, waving his hands as if that would help him to dispel the wicked thoughts. "That should only happen in a wedlock. The God wishes it so." God wanting something was the best possible reason he could come up with. "Children are God's blessing."

[Reina Silva]

"I don't know. Ask whoever came up with it," she replied with a shrug. "But if Arcadia is hell, then obviously part of it is freezing."

She leaned toward him slightly, raising an eyebrow. "What's wedlock? You seem pretty shy about normal stuff. People have needs to breathe, eat, drink, sleep, and have sex. But the last one has special conditions?"

"Fair enough." Jean nodded. "I trust you." Now, he had been told he should not trust his fellow humans as often as he did, but as good christian, he loathed to assume the worst if he had no reason to do so.

"Ah, people won't die if they don't do it." he interjected, taking half a step back. "So it's not the same. And even sleeping and eating you should do in moderation. Sloth and gluttony is just as bad as as... sluttony." the knight tried to explain with he mangled English. "Too much of anything and we are pulled away from God."

She stared at him for a long moment. Her lip quivered. Finally, she burst out laughing. "Sluttony! Is that the real word? Madre de dios...!" She rubbed her eyes with her hands. "Okay, okay, but we're not talking about doing it too much, just... like... Wait, you never answered what wedlock is."
