Tiffani said nothing. She made no sound as the huntsman appeared. She had never seen one before even though she had heard about huntsmen numerous times - and while people can describe how horrifying they are, there's just no substitute to seeing one in person. Even the fact that they really existed was scrambling her view of reality yet again when she was just getting reacclimated to the predictability of the mundane world. She started when the shot went off, certain that the huntsmen was aiming right between her eyes.

She wasn't certain what made her do it. Perhaps it was her refusal to allow Marlowe, who might very well have her future in her hands, be taken back to Arcadia. Perhaps she was being genuinely altruistic. Or perhaps she simply couldn't allow such an aberration of rationality to exist in the mortal world.

Whatever the case, Tiffani moved in front of Marlowe almost protectively, her words coming as a whispered hiss. "You ... will ... do ............. nothing !"

The Huntsman couldn't resist as his gaze was drawn to the young woman, entirely against his will. The nightmare steed screamed as the Huntsman gathered himself by sheer force of will, putting his heels to the demon-cycle's sides and adjusting position to shoot past Tiffani towards his intended target. This shot hits its mark, striking Marlowe in the left thigh, part of the Changeling's hamstring exploding outwards in an ugly exit wound.
