Thank you for running it and having the patience to keep going. I wish this weren't necessary, but I can see the difficulties ahead.

"I didn't intend to stay this long, but there's something about Maize." I said as I stepped towards the door. "Maybe it's the corn. Can't say I've seen that type before."

"Robert Henshall."

"I may never find her." I admitted. "But, it wouldn't be right to stop looking. Have to figure Maize out anyway. I think we're going to have to start questioning the locals directly, if we want to figure this out."

"I'd like to learn more about the town, to be honest. But, I don't want to keep you from morning worship." I gave an apologetic nod. "I'll let you be."

"It's still appreciated." I shrugged. "I've been on the road enough to know how easily good service can be taken for granted. I imagine you weren't expecting so many guests this week."

"My thoughts exactly." I nodded. "He may have been put off by her appearance, but he did arrange for a room here. It's a bit suspicious, but I'm not sure he's an enemy."

I borrowed a car. That was my second mistake. It was some sort of Frankenstein contraption, cobbled together in a scrap yard, somewhere. I should have just used the Buick. Honestly, I shouldn't have tried racing at all. My leg gave out on the second turn, making it impossible to come out of the drif...

"No. She didn't." I shook my head. "The priest did set her up with a room here, but she seems to think he's involved with whatever's going on. From what she said, he may be able to see us for what we are."

"I wanted to thank you, for your hospitality." I set a cup of coffee in front of him and slid the donuts over. "I didn't know how you took your coffee."
